Consultation closes 18 December

A development application for a residential building for social and affordable housing at 70 Cecil Avenue, Cannington (Lot 9001 on DP 426359) has been received by the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) under Part 10 of the Metropolitan Region Scheme.

Located at the corner of Lake Street and Cecil Avenue, approximately 200m from Cannington Train Station, the site is 1.217 hectares in size with frontages of 59 metres to Sevenoaks Street,104 metres to Cecil Avenue and 56 metres to Lake Street.

The application proposes the construction of a six-storey residential building consisting of 100 apartments, communal areas, and parking comprising 61 standard car bays, five motorcycle bays and 60 bicycle bays, and landscaping and ancillary service areas.

The application from DevelopmentWA is being advertised to seek public comments and is open until Thursday, 18 December 2025.

The development is valued at $85 million.
