Overview

A significant development application for a neighbourhood centre in Casuarina has been received by the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) under Part 11B of the Planning and Development Act 2005.

The application proposes a neighbourhood centre including a supermarket with customer pick-up area, four retail tenancies, three drive-through fast food outlets, liquor store, medical centre, café with outdoor seating area and play space, and associated parking on a part of lots 9116 and 9001 Thomas Road, Casuarina.

The development consists of the following elements:

  • A supermarket (3,666m2) with drive-through customer pick-up area,
  • Four specialty retail tenancies, with a combined area of 487m2,
  • Three drive-through fast food outlets, with a combined area of 800m2,
  • A liquor store (177m2),
  • A café (307m2) with outdoor seating area and play space,
  • A medical centre (386m2) and
  • 456 onsite parking bays, with 8 online pick up bays, 32 queuing spaces, 5 waiting bays and staff parking bays.

The application from Aigle Royal Group is required to be advertised to seek public comments and is open until 21 April 2025.

The development is valued at $40.24 million.
