Consultation closes 29 March 2026

A significant development application for residential apartments in East Fremantle has been received by the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) under Part 11B of the Planning and Development Act 2005.

The application proposes a three-storey building with 34 residential apartments for social housing, car parking and landscaping at 7-27 Canning Highway, East Fremantle.

The development consists of the following elements:

  • 19 one-bedroom and 15 two-bedroom apartments
  • 21 car parking bays
  • Vehicle access and parking via a new crossover on East Street
  • The apartments will be managed by Community Housing Provider, Foundation Housing.

The application from Foundation Housing c/o TBB Planning is required to be advertised to seek public comments and is open until 29 March 2026.

The development is valued at $20.8 million.

While public advertising is open, the development application documents can be viewed on this page or in person by appointment at the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage’s (Department) Perth offices, Level 2, 140 William Street, Perth.
