Overview
The Western Australian Planning Commission has received an application for development approval at Lot 627 (No. 5) Hyem Road, Herne Hill in the Swan Valley.
The application proposes the following works:
• The demolition of existing structures in the form of an existing demountable, pergola and the removal of some vegetation.
• The construction of a 188m2 unenclosed patio which will be affixed to the southern side of the multifunctional hall. The roof is constructed from Colorbond material and slopes down in a skillion arrangement.
• The applicant has advised that the patio will be used for outdoor activities.
The existing meditation and multifunctional hall (place of worship) enjoys non-conforming use rights under the Swan Valley Planning Scheme No. 1. In accordance with the provisions of SVPS1, any proposed additions to an existing non-conforming use are required to be advertised to affected adjoining landowners for a period of 14 days.
