Consultation closes 14 December 2026
The Western Australian Planning Commission is seeking public comment on a proposal to amend the Metropolitan Region Scheme (MRS) for land in the City of Swan.
The purpose of the amendment is to rezone approximately 66.8 hectares in Cullacabardee from the Regional Open Space (Water Catchments) reservation to the Urban zone in the MRS.
The proposed amendment will facilitate future residential development for approximately 1,000 dwellings, a local centre for shops and services, and around 8 hectares of local Public Open Space (POS).
The proposed amendment is to be progressed as a standard region scheme amendment as the size and scale of the amendment is not regionally significant and does not reflect a significant change to the strategic planning for the Metropolitan region.
Submissions close Monday, 14 December 2026. Late submissions may not be considered.
Please direct queries for more information on the abovementioned amendment to the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage by email to RegionPlanningSchemes@dplh.wa.gov.au or telephone (08) 6551 9000.
