Consultation closes on 3 June 2026

An application to amend the approved significant development, the Ocean Beach Hotel redevelopment, has been received by the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) under Part 17 of the Planning and Development Act 2005.

The approved development includes residential apartments, short term (hotel) accommodation, a tavern/bar, restaurants and retail and commercial tenancies at 140 Marine Parade, Cottesloe.

The application proposes only to amend the date by which the proposal must be substantially commenced. An extension of 36 months is requested, which would be effective from the date the WAPC approved the amendment application. No other changes are proposed.

Feedback should be limited to the impacts of extending the substantial commencement period only, rather than the approved plans which are not subject to the amendment application.

The application from Element Advisory on behalf of the landowners is required to be advertised to seek public comments and is open until 3 June 2026.

The approved development is valued at $320 million.

You can view the Agenda and Minutes for the WAPC’s original 22 June 2023 development approval via the link below.
