Overview
The APP Group on behalf of the University of Western Australia has submitted a development application to the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) for a student accommodation facility at 22 (Lot 8235) Gordon Street, Nedlands. The development application requires the approval of the WAPC under the Metropolitan Region Scheme (MRS).
The proposed development is located adjacent to Gordon Street and Hampden Road. Existing buildings adjacent to Stirling Highway and Clifton Street will remain.
The proposed development includes:
14 levels including a rooftop amenity area.
844 student beds across a range of room configurations and one caretaker apartment.
Amenities to support the student accommodation, including administration office, study spaces, communal recreation areas and rooftop terrace.
620m2 ground floor commercial space facing Gordon Street and Hampden Road, for uses such as retail, food and beverage, personal services and offices, and 87m2 central café space.
20 internal car parking bays for staff and visitors and 133 bicycle bays for all building users.
Upgrades to the adjacent on-site carpark to maintain 90 bays for existing campus users.
Public comments on the proposed development were invited up to 5pm on 31 December 2024. The comment period has now closed.
The development application is being advertised to gain feedback on the proposed development.
