Substantial commencement only

The Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) has received an amendment application under Part 17 of the Planning and Development Act (2005) relating to the approved Tawarri Hot Springs Development comprising a recreation facility and restaurant at Lot 502 (No. 120) Esplanade, Dalkeith.

The change requested by applicant Urbis Ltd proposes only to amend the date by which the proposal must be substantially commenced. No other changes are proposed.

The approved development consists of the following elements which will not change in the event of this amendment application being approved:

  • Demolition of an existing reception centre
  • Construction of a recreation facility and restaurant

Since these elements are not subject to the amendment, your feedback is best limited to the impacts of extending the substantial commencement period only.

This amendment is required to be advertised to seek public comments and is open until 14 May 2025.

The approved development is valued at $45 million.
