Overview
A significant development application for a mixed-use commercial centre in Woodvale has been received by the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) under Part 11B of the Planning and Development Act 2005.
The application proposes a supermarket, warehouse (self-lock storage) and car park for caravan storage, bulky goods showrooms, a childcare centre, gym, service station, fast food outlets and associated parking at 567 Wanneroo Road and 20 Ancestor Retreat, Woodvale.
The proposal encompasses development of a 3.5-hectare site with a mix of commercial, service commercial and retail uses including:
- An Aldi supermarket
- A three-storey self-lock storage facility with office, caravan and camper storage bays, water tanks and a pump room
- A building housing four ground floor bulky goods showrooms and a cafe, and a first-floor gym and childcare centre
- 2 drive-through fast food outlets
- A petrol station with a convenience store
- Modifications to the Wanneroo Road and Woodvale Drive intersection including:
- No right turn onto Wanneroo Road from Woodvale Drive
- Signalised intersections travelling north on Wanneroo Road
- Signalised intersections turning onto Woodvale Drive and Wanneroo Road
- Modification to the existing access to residents on Woodvale Drive opposite the site.
The application from Urbanista Town Planning on behalf of Strategic Property Group Pty Ltd is required to be advertised to seek public comments and is open until 21 April 2025.
The development is valued at $35 million.
