Retrospective approval for colorbond boundary fencing, retaining walls and solid colorbond front fence - Lot 26 (No.91) Bromley Road, Herne Hill

The application seeks retrospective approval under the Swan Valley Planning Scheme No. 1 for colorbond boundary fencing, retaining walls and a solid colorbond front fence at Lot 26 (No.91) Bromley Road, Herne Hill. The application entails the following:

• A solid 2.1 metre colorbond fence and associated solid sliding gate located on the front elevation boundary (primary street) totalling 20.4 metres.
• A solid colorbond 1.8-metre-high fence and associated 0.3 metre retaining wall located on the southern side lot boundary measuring 56 metres. (total height 2.1 metre).
• A solid colorbond fence located on the northern side lot boundary elevation totalling 50 metres with two distance sections:
  • a 14.4 metres section which measures 2.1 metre in height
  • a 35.6 metres section with a 0.75 metre retaining wall and 1.8 metre solid colorbond fence. (2.55 metre maximum height)

The proposal varies the endorsed Swan Valley Rural fencing policy regarding the following matters:

1. Solid walls and fences located on the primary street and common lot boundaries on rural zoned are generally not supported.
2. Fibre cement or colorbond material fencing is not supported in the Swan Valley rural zone.
3. The maximum height of the fencing is greater than 1.8 metres.
