Consultation closes 17 February 2026

A development application for the extension and redevelopment of the AQWA building and facilities in Hillarys Boat Harbour has been received by the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC).

The application includes new aquarium exhibits, a theatre, café, gift shop and playground, and a separate ‘Sustainability Centre’ building, contained within the existing AQWA lease area.

The proposed development is located at 91 Southside Drive, Hillarys (Lot 13455 on DP 220334). The applicant is Coral World Australia Pty Ltd.

The application is being advertised for public comment and is open until Tuesday, 17 February 2026.

The development is valued at $13 million.
