Help shape future development of the Jandakot-Treeby Area. Consultation closes 15 August.

Overview

In August 2023, the Western Australian Government identified the Jandakot-Treeby Planning Investigation Area as suitable for urban expansion.

The identified urban expansion area is approximately 580 hectares in size and consists of land near the Jandakot Airport and within the City of Cockburn (map above). The area is currently zoned Rural-Water Protection under the Metropolitan Region Scheme and Resource under the City of Cockburn Local Planning Scheme No.3.

To guide the future development of the area, the WAPC has endorsed the preparation of a district structure plan by a third party. The draft Jandakot-Treeby District Structure Plan (DSP) has been prepared by Rowe Group and submitted to the WAPC for advertising.

To inform the WAPC’s consideration of the draft DSP, input from community and stakeholders is invited. Comments can be provided until 15 August 2025.
