Consultation closes 16 June 2025.

Overview

The Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) is seeking public comment on a proposal to amend the Metropolitan Region Scheme (MRS) for land in the City of Swan.

The purpose of the amendment is to transfer approximately 504.23 ha in Bullsbrook from the Rural zone to the Urban Deferred zone and Regional Open Space reservation in the MRS. The proposed amendment will primarily facilitate future residential development, school sites, district open space and areas for Public Open Space (POS) and environmental conservation.

The proposed amendment is to be progressed as a complex region scheme amendment, given the size and scale of the proposal and the establishment of a new Urban area it is considered a substantial change in the North Ellenbrook locality.

Submissions close Monday 16 June 2025. Late submissions may not be considered.

Please direct queries for more information to the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage by email to regionplanningschemes@dplh.wa.gov.au or telephone (08) 6551 9000.
