Consultation closes on 2 June 2026
An application to amend an approved significant development for a student accommodation facility with a commercial tenancy at 37-43 Stirling Highway, Nedlands has been received by the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) under Part 11B of the Planning and Development Act 2005.
The amendment application proposes:
changes to facade colours and materials
minor changes to the building envelope and floorplates
changes to the composition of bedroom types
deletion of Condition 22(b) requiring a 2-metre-wide easement along the eastern boundary for pedestrian access
increasing the ground-floor landscaping, including a new strip along the eastern boundary associated with the removal of the pedestrian accessway, and
addition of roof-top wind turbine power generation.
The approved development consists of a 19-storey student accommodation facility with 440 rooms and associated amenities, a shop and basement parking.
Since these elements are not subject to the amendment, your feedback should be limited to the impacts of the changes listed above.
Further details of the proposed changes are outlined in the applicant’s documents submitted as part of the amendment application, which are available for viewing in the Key Documents section on this page for the duration of the consultation period.
The application from Planning Solutions on behalf of Centurion Properties Australia Investments Pty Ltd is required to be advertised to seek public comment and is open until 2 June 2026.
The agenda, minutes and a video recording of the determination meeting for the original development application approved by the WAPC’s Statutory Planning Committee (SPC) on 7 May 2025 are available below. The agenda includes development plans and reports.
