A development application proposing the construction of a new Emergency Department at Royal Perth Hospital has been received by the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) under Part 10 of the Metropolitan Region Scheme.
Located at 212 Wellington Street, the proposed development comprises:
- a new nine-storey Emergency Department (S Block)
- a three-level link structure connecting the new S Block to the existing R Block
- vehicle access, and
- associated landscaping.
The development is valued at $485 million.
The application from the Department of Housing and Works is being advertised to seek public comments and is open until 17 July 2026.
