Consultation closes 28 March 2026
On 9 April 2025, the Swan Valley Statutory Planning Committee, on behalf of the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC), resolved to refuse the proposed telecommunications tower at Lot 27 (no. 96) Caversham Avenue, Caversham. The Applicant subsequently applied to the State Administrative Tribunal (SAT) seeking a review of this decision.
The WAPC has since been invited by the SAT to reconsider its decision under section 31 of the State Administrative Tribunal Act 2004 following the provision of amended development plans from the applicant (REF #21-50923-2; DR 65/2025), which is now being advertised for public comment.
The major changes proposed in the amended development application are:
reduction in monopole height, from 25-metres to 20-metres, with a reduction in total structure height structure from 28.264 metres to 25.03 metres
a slimline headframe, replacing the previous triangular headframe
increased setback to the western boundary from 18m to 49m, and
increased tree planting from 7 x 25 litre trees to 9 x 100 litre trees and associated shrub planting.
The application is open for comment until 28 March 2026.
